I have been thinking about building another car based off of the townsend car that I currently have. I'm not sure of the cost , I have talked to Jeff Stump and if I'm not mistaken...He has built a few cars and is on the virginia mini cup board of directors....Jeff any direction on building a car would be appreciated. I did not like the front "suspension" of the townsend. Puts the fron clip in a bind when wedge is put in. I know that Brian Orvine of Tricounty Motorsports has a jig or access to one to build cars. I think its in conjunction with Scott Roach, I think. To be 100% honest, if I truly wanted a "rigid" chassis, I would get an old MMI suspension chassis and replace the shocks with rigid struts. I would not or will not ever build or reclip another rigid chassis. I dont think that a suspension chassis made rigid is legal in SC (Dillon) group. I dont know why. Doesnt make sense. Willie Whines had or has all the jigs from Townsend to build cars. They are for sale.

We bought a 2000 n/c chassis that had a bent rear clip and we fixed the clip then made a jig for the chassis. Making a suspended car ridgid does work. You can make different length rods to put in place of the shocks to get your ride heights where you want it at. We have played with it some and would like to try more combos to make the car work.
